Training

I deliver in-person workshops on attachment trauma, vicarious trauma and self-care.

When I became a foster carer, I learned more about caring for deeply traumatised children.

I also realised that an in-depth knowledge of attachment trauma was essential for carers.

But of course, you don’t know what you don’t know.

Everything I’ve learned while being a carer and counsellor is now insight that I share in specialist training for good practice.

My training is informed by lived experience - not just theory

People who work in helping or caring roles can gain valuable insight into patterns of behaviour with adequate attachment trauma training.

I create and deliver training sessions about attachment trauma, vicarious trauma and self-care, informed by lived-experience, in the West Midlands.

These sessions are engaging, include real-life examples, and offer practical advice.

Vicarious Trauma

This training session will help you understand vicarious trauma, secondary trauma, and compassion fatigue, exploring their differences and impact. You’ll learn to recognise the signs, understand how exposure affects you, and create practical self-care strategies to protect your well-being while supporting children and young people.

Self-Care for Carers

This training session helps carers reflect, reset, and restore balance. Through a life audit, value exploration, and a self-care deep dive, you’ll uncover what’s draining you and how to replenish yourself while continuing to support children and young people.

This training is suitable for teachers, social workers, foster carers, family support teams, residential care workers, religious leaders, and therapists.

I work with charitable organisations, such as the reputable Susan Vickers Foundation.
